In a rare showing of bipartisanship, President Obama’s $3.6 Trillion budget was soundly defeated by the House of Representatives, 414 to 0.
That’s 0… as in goose egg.
Even Nancy Pelosi voted against it.
It would be easy for one to find examples throughout history of bills that have unanimous support for, but against? This is either truly historic, or profoundly embarrassing for the President.
The vote came as the House worked its way through its own fiscal year 2013 budget proposal, written by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI). Republicans wrote an amendment that contained Mr. Obama’s budget and offered it on the floor, daring Democrats to back the plan, which calls for major tax increases and yet still adds trillions of dollars to the deficit over the next decade.
Obviously, no Democrats accepted the challenge.
Things aren’t looking too good in the Senate, either, which has stated they will not bring a budget to the floor this year. Last year, the Senate defeated the President’s budget by a vote of 97-0. Another goose egg.
It has been 1,085 days since a budget has been passed (the last one was April 9th, 2009). Doesn’t that constitute a dereliction of duty? The people we’ve elected to run this country are running it alright… right into the ground.
When do we get to send every one of them a pink slip?

Reality is what crushes liberalism. Reality is what crushes Obama.
Liberals (Democrat Party) don’t live in reality. They have no moral fiber or moral core
