Just What in the World is America up to?4 min read

Just what in the world is the US government up to lately? First, there was the NDAA (the feds can indefinitely detain you merely on the suspicion of terrorism). Then there was SOPA/PIPA (the feds want to shut down the internet). By the way, they are bringing this one back in the form of CISPA [1] (which further violates your 4th Amendment rights). Let’s not forget the NDRP [2] (feds can seize any resource – or person – in the name of a “national emergency” – a state we’ve continuously been in since September 11th, 2001). Of course there’s the Enemy Expatriation Act [3], which will strip US citizens of their citizenship (again, on the suspicion of terrorism, not on the conviction).

Now, we learn that the feds are buying up to 450 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point ammunition. From NaturalNews [4]:

Just a few weeks ago, the federal government initiated a contract for acquiring 450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition. “The special hollow point effectively passes through a variety of barriers and holds its jacket in the toughest conditions,” says a press release from the award winner, ammunition manufacturer ATK. (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/atk-secures-40-caliber-ammunition-co… [5]). This ammo is for the Department of Homeland Security as well as ICE.

This raises a couple of interesting questions. First, hollow point ammo is never used in training or target practice. Why? Because it’s entirely too expensive to do so.

Hollow point ammo was designed to shred internal organs, doing more damage with one shot. Below are two pictures. On the left, you have one showing hollow point (left) and full metal jacket (right) .40 caliber rounds. In the image on the right, you have a picture of what a hollow point round looks like after being fired.

We also learn that the Department of Homeland Security has purchased “bullet proof checkpoint booths that include stop and go lights.” [8] Below is a picture of one of them:

[9]

Now what in the world do you suppose the Department of Homeland Security, which, by the way, is a domestic agency, would need these booths for? And 450 million rounds of hollow point .40 caliber ammunition? Are we going to set up internal checkpoints, Soviet Union style? (see the image at the top of this article for an example)

Are we going to have to get used to the phrase “Papers please”?

Oh, wait. The TSA has already set up over 9,000 unannounced “security checkpoints” over the last year [10]. That’s right, the same TSA that is supposed to be airport security. They’ve graduated to running checkpoints on the roadways.

And just in case you haven’t seen it, I want to show you this behemoth:

[11]We had a name for these things in Afghanistan: MRAP. It stood for “Mine Resistant Ambush Protected” vehicles. Though more and more groups were using it, initially our EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) team used one. These things were better equipped to survive the detonation of an IED.

What does the Department of Homeland Security, again a domestic agency, need one of these for?

They aren’t fighting in wars overseas.

They are right here in our back yards!

Listen, I don’t want to believe any of this stuff. I want to believe that our government is absolutely benevolent and is only looking out for us. But over the last few years, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is simply not true. If you look at the evidence presented to you, and put the dots together, there’s no way you can’t come to the conclusion that something “funny” is going on.

It seems like the government is preparing for something. There is a group of concerned citizens that are preparing too. They are referred to as “preppers.” [12] Of course, the government considers these individuals potential terrorists [13].

Oh, did I forget to mention that the US government has recently purchased $400,000 worth of potassium iodide pills? For those of you who don’t know, these are the kind of pills you take to avoid damage to your thyroid in the wake of radioactive fallout. You know, like the Fukushima crisis [14] that the media is not reporting on?

So, just what in the world is America up to? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
